When it comes to poker tables there are many different options to choose from. Some are designed to be more durable and sturdy than others while others are made with a lot of different features that make playing poker much more fun. There are also several different sizes of poker tables available that can fit into any room in your home. Choosing the right table for your home can be difficult, but if you follow the steps in this article you can build a high quality poker table that is sure to impress your friends and family.
In order to build a poker table you will need several different supplies. The first thing you will need is a piece of plywood that can be cut to the size of your poker table. A good piece of plywood will be resistant to moisture and will not sag or bend over time like some cheaper particle board does. You will also need some form of padded rail for the players to sit on. This can be made out of a variety of materials, but the most popular option is some sort of vinyl. The vinyl that we sell for poker table padding stretches very well and will not tear easily.
Another important component of a poker table is the felt. There are a variety of different types of felt that you can use, but a good choice will be speed cloth. This is a material that is similar to the type of felt you will find on a pool table, but it is much more durable. It will not pill as quickly as traditional felt and will still provide a great deal of friction for the cards.
After you have gotten all of your parts and supplies together it is time to start working on the table. First, take a sheet of plywood and mark it “Sheet A” and “Sheet B”. Then you will need to measure 21 inches from one end and then mark that point. Repeat this process on the other end of the sheet.
Once you have marked the center line on both sheets of plywood, you will need to trim away any excess felt around the edges. Next, you will need to attach the two pieces of plywood together using wood glue. Make sure to use a clamp to hold the pieces of plywood together while the glue dries.
When the glue is dry, you can begin to work on the rail. You will need to decide what kind of padding you want to use for the rail. Most builders will use some sort of foam padding for this, but you can also use batting or other forms of cushioning. For this step it is important to work in a well-ventilated area and be sure to wear a pair of gloves and protective eyewear.
After you have completed all of the work on the rail, you will need to attach it to the poker table. For this you will need eight machine bolts coupled with a set of washers. Once this is done the table is ready for some serious poker action!
